About the Foundation

The mission of the Folke H. Peterson Foundation is to prevent cruelty to animals and to benefit and improve the quality of life for animals.

Guidelines

Funding Priorities:
Funds may be distributed directly for organizations to protect animals, for medical assistance, and for food for animals so long as such prevents cruelty to animals and benefits animals.

Geographic Focus:
United States

Types of Support:

  • Program
  • Project
  • General Operating
  • Emergency Funding

Restrictions:
No funds shall be paid to any organization which euthanizes healthy animals.

Eligibility Requirements:
The Trustees will consider qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3).

Grant Cycle and Deadline Information:

  • Annual grant cycle
  • Deadline is October 31

Grant Range:
The average grant size is between $5,000 – $20,000.
