About the Foundation

The Joe E. Johnston Foundation was established by the last will and testament of Mr. Joe E. Johnston of Woodstock, Georgia.


Guidelines

Funding Priorities:
The Foundation primarily supports religious, educational, cultural and social service organizations.

Geographic Focus:
Grants are restricted to organizations serving Cherokee County, Georgia

Types of Support:

  • Program
  • Project
  • Operating

Restrictions:
The Foundation does not consider projects outside of Cherokee County, Georgia.

Eligibility Requirements:
The Trustees will consider all qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3). If you are a 509 (a)(3) Supporting Organization, please be prepared to provide additional information. Grants are not made to support individuals.

Grant Cycle and Deadline Information:
The Foundation’s Trustees meet annually in the spring. February 1st is the deadline for submitting grant proposals to be considered at the annual meeting.

Grant Range:
The average grant size is between $2,500 – $10,000.
