About the Foundation

The Bright Wings Foundation was established by Mrs. Martha H. Ellis on May 6, 1997.

Guidelines

Funding Priorities:
The Foundation primarily supports family interests such as youth and nature.

Geographic Focus:
North Georgia with a particular emphasis in Atlanta, Georgia

Types of Support:

  • Program Support
  • Project Support

Restrictions:
The Foundation does not consider grants for operating expenses or capital projects.

Eligibility Requirements:
The Trustees will consider all qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3). If you are a 509 (a)(3) Supporting Organization, please be prepared to provide additional information. Grants are not made to support individuals.

Grant Cycle and Deadline Information:
The Foundation’s trustees meet annually in the fall. August 15 is the deadlines for submitting grant proposals to be considered at the annual meeting.

Grant Range:
The average grant size is between $1,000 – $5,000.
